It is claimed that this doctor’s daughter, who committed suicide, was trapped in an ongoing dispute between the police and the health department for a few months. It is being told that there was an argument between him and the police officers in a matter related to a medical examination. The family claims that the daughter was under pressure to change the post-mortem report.
The employees working with the lady doctor also say that the government doctor was under stress before committing suicide, the question is why the police and health department did not take action on the doctor’s complaints? If the police and health department had investigated this matter in time, a doctor’s daughter would not have had to commit suicide. But it won’t fall on anyone’s ears.
The uncle of the deceased doctor told the media that the niece was under mental stress for a long time and was repeatedly pleading for justice from the system. He had also lodged a formal complaint in the office of DYSP Phaltan, but the administration did not take any concrete action. Uncle said that if action had been taken in time, she would have been alive today.

In this case, one accused was arrested from the farm house of a friend in Pune, while the other is still absconding and is believed to be in Pandharpur area. After the arrest, the police brought the accused to Phaltan police station for questioning. After presenting the accused in the court, the police will demand custodial remand.

The minister also said that a woman police officer has been given the responsibility to investigate this matter. If the family suspects any other person, then immediately inform the police.
In this case, the Additional SP of Satara said that if timely action had been taken on the doctor’s complaint or if she had told anyone about the atrocities being committed on her, perhaps her life could have been saved. He told that a man with a distorted mentality always tries to oppress a woman, and this is worrying for every parent.
The doctor had clearly written in his suicide note that the police officer made him a victim of continuous mental and physical harassment. Tension and anger spread throughout Satara regarding this matter. When the matter came into limelight, the accused PSI was suspended. After the postmortem process was completed, the body was sent to the native village. Before taking the body, the family made it clear that they will not remain silent until they get justice.
Minister of State for Home (Rural) Pankaj Bhoyar said that orders have been given for a detailed inquiry into the entire episode. This is a very serious matter. Whoever is found guilty in this, strict action will be taken against him. It is also being investigated who had put pressure on the doctor and to whom he had complained about this.
Along with social media users, women doctors’ organizations are demanding investigation by CBI or independent agency in this matter. Doctor organizations said that this is not just suicide but a failure of the system. A woman who used to save the lives of others every day, herself lost in the hope of justice. Now a demand is being made for SIT investigation in this suicide case.
