BJP is maintaining status quo in Bihar. And, that too for the last twenty years. In the NDA government, the Chief Minister is Nitish Kumar. BJP has made only so much progress that it has reached the level of one or two Deputy CMs. Till now such an experiment has been done twice. But, the result has been nothing.
Despite the situation improving in 2020, the BJP decided not to take the risk. Despite JDU getting very less seats Nitish Kumar He was made the Chief Minister. NDA’s chief ministerial face has not been declared in the 2025 elections, but there is no alternative to Nitish Kumar in sight.
After being declared the chief ministerial face of the grand alliance, Tejashwi Yadav has also started questioning BJP like Arvind Kejriwal. In Delhi elections, Arvind Kejriwal had only one question for BJP, who is the groom? Delhi was a different matter. After the elections, Rekha Gupta was made the Chief Minister. The atmosphere in Bihar is different now.
After BJP came to power at the Centre, the biggest impact was seen in Bihar only. Nitish Kumar had vacated the post of Chief Minister, but when he returned, he sat down again. Despite returning to power in Uttar Pradesh in 2017, there is still uncertainty for the BJP in Bihar.
‘In Bihar… there is Nitish Kumar’
Prashant Kishore, who made the strategy of Nitish Kumar’s election campaign in the 2015 Bihar Assembly elections, had given a slogan, ‘It is spring in Bihar, it is Nitish Kumar’. Then Nitish Kumar was in the election field with Lalu Yadav in the grand alliance, and despite BJP putting in all its strength, won the elections and became the Chief Minister.
Be it about then or now. Be it Nitish Kumar with BJP or Lalu Yadav. Doesn’t make much difference. The glory of victory goes to only those who have Nitish Kumar with them. This formula again indicates the success of NDA, but Nitish Kumar is hardly sure about the intentions of BJP.
Everyone knows that BJP wants to get rid of Nitish Kumar as soon as possible, but in Bihar, neither BJP has Devendra Fadnavis, nor Nitish Kumar can be made Eknath Shinde in any way. Nitish Kumar still holds the trump card with him – there is always this apprehension in the leadership of BJP as to when he will turn the tables.
1. After Sushil Modi, BJP has not been able to find any leader whom it can present in Bihar in comparison to Nitish Kumar. The only drawback in Sushil Modi was that he also considered Nitish Kumar as his leader, and that is why BJP had distanced him from Nitish Kumar after winning the 2020 elections.
2. In 2020, BJP tried to control Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi by appointing them as Deputy CMs next to Nitish Kumar, but they did not even get a clue, and Nitish Kumar again went with Lalu Yadav. The condition of both the current Deputy CMs Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha is no different.
3. When he was the BJP President, Samrat Chaudhary used to talk big, but even when questions are being raised on Nitish Kumar’s health, he does not seem to be in a position to do anything. Right now he himself is seen standing in the dock on corruption charges.
4. BJP now has only one option, if JDU is reduced to less than 2020 seats. But, Chirag Paswan is in a changed role this time. And, just as Prashant Kishor has accused BJP leaders of corruption, there is no one in Bihar to save him like Mamata Banerjee – Prime Minister Narendra Modi There is hope only.
Why is there a need to maintain suspense in the name of Nitish?
Suspense still remains on the name of Nitish Kumar. It is not certain whether he will become the Chief Minister after the elections or not. And, it is also not certain that Nitish Kumar will not become the Chief Minister if NDA wins after the elections. Nitish Kumar and BJP have been continuously teasing each other on this issue.
long time ago Amit Shah He had once said that it is the Parliamentary Board that decides who will be the Chief Minister. Meaning, it is not certain that Nitish Kumar will become the Chief Minister again. After Amit Shah’s statement, the possibility of an experiment like Maharashtra started being seen in Bihar also.
JDU leaders became active after hearing about Nitish Kumar from Amit Shah’s mouth, and Nitish Kumar remained silent. Then BJP told the leaders of Bihar that Nitish Kumar will be the leader. Statements and poster making also started from JDU side. Later, Union Minister Rajnath Singh also repeated the same thing. In his own style, Rajnath almost explained that there is no doubt in the name of Nitish Kumar.
But, just now Amit Shah has again stirred up a controversy. Matter is Nitin Gadkari The same has been done by the BJP, but a strong possibility is also seen in it for Nitish Kumar – After all, why is so much confusion being created?
Amit Shah has admitted that the elections are being fought under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, but he will also become the Chief Minister, this has complicated the matter. He also explains that despite BJP having more MLAs in the Bihar Assembly, Nitish Kumar took oath as the Chief Minister, and ‘even now Nitish Kumar is the Chief Minister.’
When asked about Nitish Kumar, Amit Shah says, who am I to make anyone the Chief Minister? There are many teams. After the elections, when we all sit together, the leaders of the parties will decide their leader.
Then a similar question is asked to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, do you think that Nitish Kumar will be able to become the Chief Minister in Bihar?
Nitin Gadkari’s answer is, NDA government will definitely come back to power in Bihar… The MLAs who have won the elections will decide about the high command of JDU and BJP included in NDA.
Stating that ‘I am not the high command’, Nitin Gadkari also repeats Amit Shah’s statement, such decisions are taken by the parliamentary board.
BJP is currently stuck in a strange dilemma. By declaring Nitish Kumar as the chief ministerial face, she does not want to lose those votes which may slip away due to anti-incumbency wave or any other reason, and by declaring no more, she is trying to give hope to her supporters that BJP will now be in the role of elder brother in power too. In the distribution of seats, Nitish Kumar has already been ousted from the role of elder brother.
BJP government was formed in Uttar Pradesh in 2017, just three years after BJP took control of the Centre. Had Modi come to Bihar instead of Gujarat from Gujarat, would BJP have formed the government in 2015?
