A painful road accident took place in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh. A speeding ambulance fell off a culvert on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, killing two people and seriously injuring one. The ambulance was returning to Siliguri, West Bengal. At present this matter is being investigated.
According to the agency, this accident happened between Sedarmata and Bhubaneswar villages of Sitamau police station area. The ambulance was returning to Siliguri after dropping a patient in Ahmedabad. Two drivers and an attendant were present in the vehicle. The driver fell asleep while crossing the bridge.
According to Jitendra Singh Sisodia, assistant sub-inspector of Sitamau police station area, the accident happened late at night and the area was deserted, hence the injured person could not get immediate help. Early Saturday morning, when nearby farmers saw the wreckage of the ambulance on the roadside, they informed the police. The team that reached the spot found that one person was trapped inside and two had died.
