Once again the ban imposed on women by Taliban is being discussed. Ever since the Taliban took over Afghanistan on August 15, 2021, atrocities against women have been continuously increasing and women’s freedom is being snatched away. In such a situation, today we know what kind of restrictions have been imposed on women in Taliban in the last few years…
tell me that Taliban had captured Afghanistan on 15 August 2021 and as soon as it arrived, the first thing it did was ban women from working in government offices. Except for health services, government women workers in other sectors were asked to sit at home.
August 23, 2021: There was a ban on appointing women to leadership positions in government or other sectors.
6 September 2021: There was a ban on boys and girls studying together in schools and universities and strict rules of gender-based discrimination were implemented.

September 20, 2021: It was made mandatory for women to wear hijab in public places, later this rule was made more stringent.
1 November 2021: Universities reopened with strict gender discrimination. Women were allowed to study in separate classrooms and only selected subjects. It was made mandatory for them to enter the university through a separate entrance gate.
23 March 2022: After the announcement of the reopening of girls’ secondary schools, the Taliban reversed the decision and sent the girls home shortly after the first day.
7 May 2022: Women were ordered to wear clothes that covered the entire body. There was a provision for punishment for disobeying orders.
15 July 2022: Women were banned from entering public parks and gyms.
1 October 2022: The Taliban banned women from participating in any type of sports.
20 December 2022: Women were banned from studying in universities.

February 10, 2023: Women were dismissed from government offices, except those working in health care.
March 5, 2023: Women were banned in some provinces of Afghanistan.
April 15, 2023: Vocational training centers for women in computer, language and other professional courses were closed.
May 1, 2023: Women were banned from traveling long distances without a male guardian.
July 20, 2023: Women were barred from going to mosques to offer namaz and participating in other public religious ceremonies.
10 November 2023: Afghan women were banned from applying for international scholarships or studying abroad.
15 February 2024: Female TV anchors were forced to leave work. Male anchors were appointed in their place.
1 June 2024: There was a complete ban on women’s entry into parks, gardens and public recreational areas.
5 October 2024: It was made mandatory for women doctors to remain accompanied by a male guardian at all times.
10 August 2024: Small businesses like tailoring or home crafts run by women were ordered to be closed.
3 December 2024: Taliban issued orders to close midwifery and nursing training centers. Due to this, all education and career opportunities for Afghan women ended.
There are many more restrictions
Women are not allowed to participate in formal politics in Afghanistan. By the year 2020, more than 25 percent seats were reserved for her in Parliament and she could also contest elections for the post of President. But today he does not have any post in the cabinet.
Along with this, male tailors are not allowed to stitch women’s clothes. The situation is so bad that now people are being forced to take women in the trunk of the car. This practice exposes the bitter reality of gender discrimination in southern Afghanistan.
