Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that October 27 will be a government holiday for Delhi government employees on the occasion of Chhath festival. This information was given in a statement of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

Chief Minister Gupta said that this holiday has been declared on Monday because the third day of the four-day Chhath festival is considered the most important. On this day devotees offer Arghya to the setting sun on the banks of rivers or ponds. Preparations start early in the morning and families perform various rituals. Keeping this in mind, the government has declared October 27 as a public holiday.
