Diwali festival starts with Dhanteras. It is also called Dhan Trayodashi and due to these names the first day of Diwali is dedicated only to ‘money’. Wealth is not just money or property, but wealth means connection. In mathematics, the sign of addition is called plus. Therefore, when a festival like Dhanteras was first imagined, it must have been seen as a mutual bond between people. Humans living in tribes and groups called people together for the festival and connected them together and this positive quality makes this festival Dhanteras i.e. unifying.
it’s Kuber Dev’s day Dhanteras
Due to wealth, it is also the day of Lord Kuber, who according to mythology is the treasurer of the gods and the owner of all types of properties. For this, the god of Ayurveda, Dhanvananthari, who is called the physician of the gods, is also worshipped. However, no idol, picture or any symbol of Dhanvantari is found in people’s homes, and it is possible that no one would mention how she should be worshipped. Actually people do not know how to worship the god of health which is the greatest wealth?
Special day for Shiva worship also
But there is an easy way by which health, the most precious treasure of life, can be worshipped. For this, Lord Shiva should be worshipped. Because actually Dhanteras is a special day of Shiva worship. This is the least publicized thing, but if seen on mythological basis, it is the most accurate fact.
Trayodashi is the date of Mahadev Shiva.
Actually, the date of Trayodashi is a special date of Mahadev Shiva. Pradosh fast is observed every month on this date. Shiva is worshiped as the god of health during this Pradosh period. This is because the time between morning and evening is the time for diseases and negative forces to flourish, because the environment is changing at this time. Then Shiva, in his Vaidyanath form, cures these diseases and cures them.
Negativity spread during the killing of Hiranyakashyap
It is mentioned in the Puranas that when Lord Vishnu took the incarnation of Narasimha and killed Hiranya Kashyap, due to that the evening time became negative. During the incarnation of Narasimha, due to the uncontrolled anger of Lord Vishnu, many types of winds of fire blew and fever (commonly called fever) appeared. Then Mahadev was the only one who controlled this negative situation. Therefore, be it winter, summer or rainy season, elders have been advising to take special care in the evening.
Lord Shiva is the antidote to every poison.
Bathing, eating, sleeping are absolutely prohibited in the late afternoon because they affect the body temperature. Therefore, only Lord Shiva is worshiped as the lord of health. Shivji is also the Ayurvedacharya of Dhanvantari Dev. Shiva is the master of all medicines. There are only two main medicines in the world, one is poison and the other is nectar. Shiva is the antidote to every kind of poison. In the language of medical science, they can be called antidotes (killers of poison).
He is a successful physician for diseases like epilepsy, diarrhea, hallucinations caused by viruses. Once Parvati became uncontrolled by her power, Shiva treated her and cured her.
Why did Lord Shiva become Nataraja?
Similarly, there was a demon called Epilepsy, Barley was a dwarf but he had captured the intelligence of the sages under his control, due to which the sages had become arrogant. Then Shiva pressed Apsamar under his feet and started dancing on it. In this way Shiva became Nataraja. In the statue of Nataraja, the figure of a dwarf demon is seen under one foot of Shiva, that is epilepsy. This dance of Nataraja Shiva was called Tandava. In Ayurveda, epilepsy is called Apasmar.
Vaidyanath is a name of Lord Shiva
Therefore, Shiva in the form of Vaidya must be worshiped on the day of Dhanteras. Diwali The first day is dedicated to him only. If you wish, you can worship Lord Shiva with Panchgavya and otherwise you can just offer him barley, mustard seeds, wheat grains, paddy and a Kamalgatta, after this dedicate a lamp to Lord Shiva. In this way, health benefits can be obtained by worshiping Lord Shiva, the god of health.
