Tej Pratap has now jumped into electoral politics on his own. And, has openly stood against Tejashwi Yadav. Tej Pratap Yadav’s party Janashakti Janata Dal has released the list of 21 candidates, in which Tej Pratap Yadav’s name is at the top.
Announcement to contest elections from Mahua Tej Pratap Yadav Had already done it. Tej Pratap Yadav had contested the first election from Mahua and had entered politics in 2015. He also became a minister in the Grand Alliance government. Then Tejashwi Yadav had become the Deputy CM, and Nitish Kumar was the Chief Minister.
Tej Pratap Yadav has also announced his nomination on the same day. Tejashwi Yadav Ne. Tejashwi Yadav will file nomination from his current seat Raghopur on October 15. A supporter has also made a poster regarding the nomination of Tejashwi Yadav. Youth RJD state general secretary Rishi Yadav has made this poster. And, people of the area have been invited on the occasion of nomination.
Declaration of war from Tej Pratap
Rahul Gandhi’s pressure on Tejashwi Yadav regarding seat distribution in the grand alliance is certainly there, but Tej Pratap Yadav has started challenging him separately. Congress was already creating tension by not declaring Tejashwi Yadav as the chief ministerial face of the Grand Alliance, and the chargesheet in the IRCTC case is the biggest problem for Tejashwi Yadav in the current times. Along with Tejashwi Yadav in this case Lalu Yadav And charges have been framed against 14 people including Rabri Devi.
While Tejashwi Yadav is once again going to contest elections from his traditional seat Raghopur, Tej Pratap has changed his constituency. Tej Pratap Yadav has now decided to contest elections from Mahua instead of Hasanpur. Tej Pratap Yadav’s assembly seat was changed in 2020, and once again Tej Pratap Yadav has changed his constituency.
Tej Pratap Yadav had already announced his intention. Lalu Yadav’s family and party RJD After being expelled, Tej Pratap Yadav maintained patience for a few days, but gradually came forward openly. And then he announced to contest elections from Mahua assembly constituency. When he was asked by the media that there is talk of Tejashwi Yadav contesting elections from two seats each, Tej Pratap said that if this happens, he will contest elections from Raghopur also. Tej Pratap Yadav must have considered Tejashwi Yadav’s second seat as Mahua, and that is why he also expressed his election intention.
Challenge to RJD in Mahua ground
Mahua assembly seat is also still with RJD. RJD’s Mukesh Roshan is the MLA from Mahua. Now that Tej Pratap has declared his candidature from Mahua, it will be interesting to see what decision is taken by RJD.
There seems to be little possibility that RJD will not field a candidate against Tej Pratap Yadav. If this happens, it would seem like a show off to oust Tej Pratap from Lalu family and RJD. Anyway, on the question of Tej Pratap Yadav’s return home, Tejashwi Yadav has said about Lalu Yadav’s decision, he is my father and I know him very well.
But, would Lalu Yadav want to see his elder son losing the election also? Will Rabri Devi allow this to happen? And can Tejashwi Yadav understand the feelings of his parents and give a walk over to Tej Pratap Yadav? It doesn’t seem like that at all.
It is possible that some middle path can be found on Mahua seat, but that will not be in Tejashwi Yadav’s mind. The middle path could also be that RJD, as a formality, gives ticket to a weak candidate – and this will become clear only after RJD’s list comes out. The list of RJD candidates has not come yet. In fact, the final consensus has not yet been reached on the distribution of seats in the Grand Alliance.
Talking about Janashakti Janata Dal, what we understand right now is that Tej Pratap has announced his candidature only from Mahua and has not fielded any candidate from Hasanpur. And, not even from Raghopur. Will definitely be adopting a wait-and-watch policy.
Talking about the difference in politics between Lalu Yadav’s two sons, Tej Pratap Yadav has nothing to lose at the moment, whereas Tejashwi Yadav has everything at stake. Some can be understood as if not now or never.
