There is a tremendous buzz in India about Skoda Auto India’s new Octavia RS. Within a few days of the start of booking, all its 100 units have been completely booked. This performance sedan is now returning in its most powerful avatar. The car will be brought to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), which is expected to be priced between Rs 50 lakh to Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). Its official launch will be on 17th October and delivery will start from 6th November.
Powerful engine and performance
The new Octavia RS has a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, which generates power of 261bhp (195kW) and torque of 370Nm. This engine is mated to 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Power is sent to the front wheels, allowing this sedan to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

Design and features
The look of the car is more aggressive and premium than before. It gets 19-inch dual-tone Elias alloy wheels, RS-specific bumpers, black exterior detailing, rear spoiler and blacked-out badging. It will be offered in five colors – Mamba Green, Race Blue, Velvet Red, Magic Black and Candy White. Talking about space, the car has a boot space of 600 liters, which can be expanded to 1,555 liters by folding. It has a fuel tank of 50 liters. The length of the car is 4,709mm, width is 1,829mm, height is 1,457mm and wheelbase is 2,677mm.
Technology and Comfort
The new Octavia RS has a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, which supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Apart from this, RS-specific virtual cockpit, head-up display (HUD), and 675W Canton sound system (11 speakers + subwoofer) is provided.
For convenience, the car has features like wireless charging with active ventilation, USB-C fast charging ports (on front, rear and IRVM), powered tailgate with virtual pedal, 360-degree area view camera and intelligent park assist.
