DUSU Joint Secretary Deepika Jha (ABVP), a senior teacher Prof. in the Principal’s room of the college. She was seen raising her hand on Sujit Kumar. This entire incident happened in the presence of Delhi Police, due to which tension spread in the college campus. In this matter, Delhi Police says that a complaint has been received. Investigation is being done.

Deepika Jha says that she had reached the college on the invitation of the students. The students had alleged that Prof. Sujit Kumar behaved rudely with him. According to Deepika, during the conversation in the Principal’s room, Professor Sujit threatened her and abused her, due to which she raised her hand in momentary anger. Deepika later issued a statement expressing regret over the incident and apologized to the teacher community. He said that his aim was not to insult any teacher, but to ensure the safety of girl students on the college campus.

ABVP’s hooliganism

At the same time, NSUI has termed this incident as hooliganism of ABVP. NSUI national president Varun Chaudhary said, “The attack on a senior professor is an attack on the dignity of the entire academic community.” He alleged that this incident reflects the mentality of ABVP, which promotes a culture of fear and violence in universities.

NSUI has raised questions on the silence of Delhi Police and the university administration and demanded that immediate action should be taken against DUSU Joint Secretary Deepika Jha and others involved. The organization said universities should remain “centres of education” and not “grounds of political hooliganism”. The atmosphere in the college campus remains tense after CCTV footage of the incident surfaced. Both the student organizations, ABVP and NSUI are now accusing each other, due to which the dispute is deepening.
