A five-year-old child was kidnapped and murdered with bricks and knives in Delhi’s Narela area on Tuesday. A driver working in the transport business of the child’s father has been made an accused in the case. Police suspect that this murder was done out of revenge. Police said that the body of the child was recovered from the rented house of Neetu, the accused in the case.

A police officer said that Neetu is absconding and several teams have been formed to search for her. He told that the victim’s father had reprimanded the accused a day before. Deputy Commissioner of Police Hareshwar Swami said that information about the child’s kidnapping was received at Narela Industrial Area police station at 3.30 pm.

The officer said that during investigation it was revealed that the child was playing outside his house and suddenly went missing. Family members and neighbors started searching for him and later his body was found in Neetu’s rented room nearby. Preliminary investigation revealed that the boy’s father, the complainant, owned seven-eight transport vehicles and employed two drivers – Neetu and Wasim. The DCP said, ‘On Monday evening, there was an drunken argument between the two drivers, during which Neetu allegedly beat up Wasim.’

Police said that when the transporter was informed about the matter, he intervened and reprimanded Neetu for misbehaving and slapped her a couple of times. Humiliated, Neetu kidnapped the transporter’s son while he was playing outside the house on Tuesday, took him to his rented house and murdered him with bricks and a knife.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and took the child to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. An FIR has been registered and further investigation has been started. The officer said, ‘Driver Neetu is absconding. Several teams have been formed to catch and arrest him. Technical surveillance and local intelligence are being used to trace the accused. We are also watching CCTV footage to trace the accused.
