Rahul Gandhi not in the poster: A Congress leader believes that Tejashwi Yadav was more worried about whether he would be declared the chief ministerial face or not, and not about becoming the chief minister. The elections could have been fought by remaining neutral, but RJD was not ready to listen. This would have helped in upliftment of the most backward castes. Indications were given to RJD, but the party remained adamant regarding Tejashwi’s face. Therefore, as a strategy, Rahul Gandhi did not reach Patna for this announcement, whereas an experienced leader like Ashok Gehlot was entrusted with this task so that the wrong message is not sent.
This is the reason why only Tejashwi’s face was kept on the poster and Rahul was not visible. Congress Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru had explained the pros and cons of Tejashwi’s announcement to the top leadership of the party.
There is also a problem regarding the announcement of the Deputy Chief Minister: Congress was also not very happy that Tejashwi Yadav had given the confidence of VIP party chief Mukesh Sahni as the Deputy Chief Minister candidate. The top leadership of the party had clearly said in the meeting of Bihar Congress leaders that no Deputy Chief Minister candidate will be announced, the decision will be taken only after the results are declared. Trapped on many seats: Congress was trying its best to bargain with RJD so that Congress gets its strong seats and this was the reason why Congress postponed Tejashwi’s announcement till the last over.
