A shocking incident came to light in Barabanki, UP, where a wife gave a contract of Rs 1 lakh to an e-rickshaw driver for the murder of her own husband. The wife termed the murder of her husband, who had come to visit Deva Fair, as a road accident. But when the police revealed the layers of truth, the revelation was such that it shook everyone. The innocent son of the woman herself revealed the secret of the murder. When the police addressed him affectionately as ‘uncle’, he clearly said – “Papa has been killed.”
The murder took place while returning from Deva Fair.

Two days ago Hanumantlal had come to visit Deva Fair with his wife Pooja and children. But while returning from the fair, his dead body was found on the Deva-Lucknow road. The wife told the police that the husband died in a road accident. But the police became suspicious of his words and then conducted a strict interrogation.
The truth that came out during the interrogation stunned even the police. The deceased’s wife Pooja Gautam had an illicit relationship with the nephew of her own family. As quarrels increased in the house, the wife decided to get rid of her husband. Then she met Kamlesh, an e-rickshaw driver living in Lucknow and gave him a contract of Rs 1 lakh to kill her husband.
After visiting Deva Mela on the evening of 13 October, Pooja booked the same e-rickshaw in which Kamlesh was the driver. As soon as they reached near Tahirpur turn, Kamlesh picked up the rod and hit Hanumantlal on the head. Hanumantlal died on the spot. After this both of them fabricated the story – ‘Hanumantlal died in a road accident.’
Police told the whole story
ASP Vikas Chandra Tripathi said that the disclosure of the murder was possible due to the honesty of the deceased’s child in the entire case and the sensitivity of the police team. At present, the police have arrested both Pooja and Kamlesh. The rods used in the murder, mobile phones and e-rickshaw have been recovered from both of them.
ASP told that the wife gave a betel nut of one lakh rupees to the e-rickshaw driver Kamlesh, then got down from the bike on the pretext of cold, and sat in the same rickshaw. The deceased was on a motorcycle. These people stopped him on the way and killed him by hitting him with an iron rod. Then, considering the incident as an accident, the police was informed and the wife went back to Lucknow with the e-rickshaw driver.
According to the police, the matter is completely related to infidelity and greed. This was a kind of blind murder. While making the disclosure, the police have arrested the accused wife and the e-rickshaw puller. Both of them have been sent to jail after being produced in the court.
