A horrific incident of honor killing has come to light in Bhikada village of Bhavnagar in Gujarat. Where a daughter was killed in the house by her mother and brother together. After the murder, both of them threw the body in an empty check dam to destroy the evidence. Later, when the father came to know about this incident, he lodged a police complaint against his wife and son and the whole matter came to light.
While filing a complaint with the police, Himmatbhai said that about a year ago, his 22-year-old daughter Parul was talking to a boy named Vivek through Instagram on her mobile, when his son Prakash caught her. After this, Parul started insisting on a love marriage with that boy. Due to this, fights started happening frequently in the house. Because of which mother Dayaben and brother Prakash became angry with him and started forbidding him to talk to Vivek.
However, Parul remained adamant on marrying Vivek. Due to this reason, Parul’s brother Prakash was also not getting engaged. Therefore, the family planned to get Prakash and Parul engaged face to face. But due to Parul’s stubbornness, there were frequent fights in the house. Police said that meanwhile, on October 18, Parul was once again caught by her mother Dayaben talking to Vivek on Instagram.
After this Dayaben called Prakash and called him home. Then when Prakash came home, mother and son explained to Parul that due to her love marriage, the family would lose respect in the society and it would be difficult for her other two children to get married. But Parul did not listen to him and threatened to run away and marry Vivek. Angered by this, the mother caught hold of Parul and placed her hand on her mouth.
At the same time, her brother Prakash started attacking his sister Parul’s neck and body with a knife. While trying to escape, Parul also got a knife on her palm and elbow. Parul died on the spot due to excessive bleeding. After this, to hide the dead body as it was already day, mother and son wrapped Parul’s body in a tarpaulin and hid it in a clump of trees near the well.
Then both of them, seeing the opportunity, threw Parul’s body in the check dam and left from there. When the father came to know about this incident, he immediately informed the police and on the basis of his complaint, the police arrested the accused mother and son.
