Ola Shakti Price & Features: The country’s leading two-wheeler manufacturing company Ola, which was making electric scooters till now, has now started taking care of the electricity for your home. The company entered India’s Rs 1 trillion Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) market and launched its first residential energy solution ‘Ola Shakti’. Meaning, now Ola is going to bring ‘current’ not only on the roads but also in your homes, that too with clean, green energy.

The company said that the world-class battery technology it had developed for electric vehicles is now delivering the same power to homes. Ola Shakti is a portable device, which you can use to run AC-fridge at home, or to pump water in fields, or in your small business. Company CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said, “We never named the company Ola Auto, because our vision was not just to make vehicles. We wanted to create a complete energy ecosystem, and Ola Shakti is our next step in that direction.”

Ola Electric Says this move is an expansion of their existing 4680 cell technology and Gigafactory production capacity. With this, the company will use the Ola network present in the entire country for sales and distribution, due to which they will not need additional investment.

What is Ola Shakti?

Ola Shakti is a portable device, which can be used to supply power to ACs, refrigerators, water pumps in homes and small businesses. If understood in simple language, this is a device which is more than an inverter, which provides multiple solutions simultaneously.

Company CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said during the launch, “Through Ola Electric, our vision has always been to advance the entire energy storage supply chain. Ola Shakti is also a part of the same vision. It will act as a power backup which will provide many solutions like solar storage, voltage stability and portability of electricity.”

Variants and price of Ola Shakti

Ola Shakti is offered in four variants – 1.5 kWh, 3 kWh, 5.2 kWh and 9.1 kWh. The prices of the initial 10,000 units have been kept at Rs 29,999, Rs 55,999, Rs 1,19,999 and Rs 1,59,999 respectively. Its pre-booking has started for Rs 999 and delivery will start from Makar Sankranti 2026. At present, the company has introduced it with an introductory price, which will be applicable only on the first 10,000 units.

The device is equipped with many advanced features, including instant power changeover, weatherproof IP67 rated battery and real-time monitoring through a connected app. That means the user can easily keep an eye on it all the time by connecting it to his smartphone. Ola Shakti can provide electricity to appliances like AC, fridge and pump at full capacity for about 1.5 hours at a time.

use existing stores

The company says that it will use its existing service center and stores network for these energy storage solutions. Aggarwal said that the company is currently launching it in the business-to-consumer (B2C) segment, while the business-to-business (B2B) model will also be introduced soon. He said, “The B2B version will come in the form of a container grid product. The B2C model will be able to meet the energy needs of homes, small businesses and at the community level. It can be expanded up to 27 kWh if needed.”

Market will reach Rs 3 trillion

India’s battery energy storage system market is worth approximately Rs 1 trillion. Which is expected to reach the level of Rs 3 trillion by 2030. Ola Electric expects its annual BESS usage to reach 5 gigawatt hours (GWh) in the coming years. This launch is not just a product but the beginning of a new era for Ola, where the company is trying to go beyond mobility and give a new dimension to India’s energy future.
