The number of educated unemployed is increasing in Rajasthan. 21 lakh unemployed have applied for unemployment allowance. Every youth who is looking for a job is applying for unemployment allowance. The government is able to give allowance to only one lakh 90 thousand people, and that too with a delay of eight to ten months. There are protests for increase in posts in every job available in Rajasthan.
Unemployed protesting in Jaipur
These unemployed people are protesting at the Martyr Memorial of Jaipur. Protesting for increase in the post of librarian in the examination. They say that one lakh unemployed people have applied for 548 posts. At present, there are only 3000 posts for librarians in 19 thousand schools in the state. They want that the government should at least increase 500 more posts. They have also applied for unemployment allowance under the government’s Yuva Sambal Yojana, but till now the number of unemployed for 2019-21 is not coming under this scheme which was started in 2019. After studying BA, Giriraj Meena had applied for Rs 4000 unemployment allowance in 2019 and Kumar Saini had applied in 2022. Meanwhile, I also completed a librarian course but neither am I getting a job nor am I getting unemployment allowance.
Rajasthan In 2017, the previous Congress government had started unemployment allowance of Rs 4,500 for women and Rs 4,000 for men among unemployed graduates. This is given to two lakh unemployed people for a maximum of two years so that poor students can pursue their studies. In case of high number of applications, a provision of four hours internship i.e. working in a government office was made so that the number comes down, but the number is increasing. The Rajasthan government has promised to provide four lakh government jobs in five years, but the army of unemployed is much longer than this. There are movements to increase the posts in all the jobs that are coming up. So far the government has had to increase posts in seven jobs. Unemployment allowance is a great support for poor students preparing for studies.
