ASI Sandeep Kumar Lather, posted in the cyber cell of Rohtak, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself on Tuesday. Senior police officer said on Thursday that on the basis of Lather’s suicide note and video, the police have registered a case of abetment to suicide and criminal conspiracy.
Rohtak ASI Sandeep Lather was cremated with state honors in Julana. His body was taken away in a police vehicle. During this time, many youths were seen standing on the roadside carrying the tricolor flag to pay their respects.
In his 6-minute video, Sandeep made serious allegations against late IPS officer Y Puran Kumar and his family members. He claimed that during the tenure of the former IG, transfers of employees were made on the basis of caste. FIR was registered on the complaint of Sandeep’s wife.
Sandeep’s body reached Julana
After postmortem, Sandeep’s body was taken to his native village Julana, Jind district, where a large number of rural and political leaders attended the last rites. Many state ministers and leaders of Congress and BJP also participated.
Sandeep’s wife demanded investigation
Sandeep’s wife Santosh Lather said, ‘My husband was very brave, he could not have done this. Therefore, I request the Haryana administration to investigate this matter impartially. I have no other demands’
State DGP OP Singh said that measures will be taken to prevent such incidents in future by involving the families of policemen as shock absorbers.
Puran Kumar also died under suspicious circumstances
Let us tell you that before this, late IPS Puran Kumar had also died under suspicious circumstances. Sandeep exposed the corruption and financial issues related to his family. Police have formed a six-member SIT to investigate the Puran Kumar case.
