A political battle has started to remove BJP’s municipality president in Harda district of Madhya Pradesh. Councilors of BJP and Congress have united. BJP councilors are so angry that they reached the collector office along with Harda Congress MLA RK Dogne with the application of no-confidence motion. However later the councilors called it a coincidence. Said that he has not come with the MLA, whereas Congress MLA RK Dogne has claimed to come along. On the other hand, BJP is taking the matter seriously and has sought reply from all the councilors within 24 hours.

Actually, there is turmoil going on in Sirali Municipal Council of the district. Where Congress councilors also united with BJP councilors to remove the Speaker. Congress MLA Dr. RK Dogne said that 10 BJP and three Congress councilors of Sirali Municipal Council had brought a no-confidence motion against the Chairman. He has introduced these councilors to the Collector. The Collector has instructed Additional Collector (ADM) Purushottam Kumar to verify the councilors. After verification, further action will be taken as per rules.

On the other hand, after this incident, BJP District President and former Timarni MLA Sanjay Shah told the journalists that he has called the concerned councilors. During this, District President Rajesh Verma admitted that the councilors are angry with the functioning of the Municipal Council Chairperson Anita Aggarwal. He said that after the new amendment, it is not easy to remove the old president and make someone new president from among the councilors. Therefore the demands of the councilors are not being accepted.

It is known that all the councilors are unanimous in making Payal Kushwaha, the councilor elected unopposed from Ward 9 of Sirali, as the president. Councilors believe that if the President resigns, Payal will be the strongest contender for the post of President.

In this regard, Harda Collector says that 13 councilors had come to meet, after verifying which the information will be sent to the State Election Commission. It is known that the Madhya Pradesh government has amended the Act to save the chair of urban body chairpersons.
