Rajasthan Administrative Service officer SDM Chhotu Lal Sharma is in the news these days. The reason was the incident that took place at a CNG pump in Bhilwara district, in which he first slapped a pump worker and then got slapped himself. When the video went viral, the matter escalated so much that the government suspended him. But now the story of his personal life has become more interesting than this slapping incident. In which love marriage, divorce, second marriage and responsibility of five children are all there.
Romance with first wife in college
Chhotu Lal Sharma’s first marriage was with Poonam Jakhodia. Both of them met in a college, where both were working as lecturers. It was during that period that the closeness between the two increased and this relationship reached the extent of love marriage.
Poonam tells that we both saw the days of struggle together. I used to help him financially, so that he could complete his studies. Even after marriage, we never felt the lack of anything. He had two children from this marriage. both children even today Bhilwara Study in a big private school.
Behavior changed after becoming RAS
According to Poonam, when Chhotu Lal was selected in Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) in 2018, his attitude changed. He started considering himself greater than others. Getting angry over every issue and fighting became common. Earlier he did not raise his hands on the children, but later he did not leave them either. He told that he used to say that now I am SDM, you look old. I will marry someone else now.
New game created during Corona period
According to Poonam, during the Corona epidemic, Chhotu Lal made the excuse that there are good schools in Pilani and online studies are also going on there. He got the children admitted there and said stay there, I will come. He used to come from time to time and also send money. But gradually it went away completely. Crying, Poonam told that suddenly in 2023, divorce papers arrived, which had my fake signatures on them. Then I understood that he had planned everything in advance. He has filed a case in Jodhpur High Court in this matter. Poonam says that I am his first wife and even now I apply vermilion in his name.
Second marriage with Deepika Vyas
After separation from his first wife, Chhotu Lal Sharma married Deepika Vyas for the second time. This marriage took place in the year 2024. Now he has a two-month old child with Deepika. According to Chhotu Lal, both his children from his first wife live with him and study in a school in Bhilwara. He says, currently both the children have gone to their maternal home on Diwali, whom I myself had left behind. But this is where the story becomes more interesting because not only her two-month-old son but also the two children of her late elder brother live with Deepika. That means in total Deepika takes care of five children. Chhotu Lal’s wife Deepika currently lives in house number B-368 located in Ansal Colony, Bhilwara. Before suspension, Chhotu Lal was posted as SDM Pratapgarh and used to come to meet the family on Saturday-Sunday. Now after suspension, his headquarters has been shifted to Jaipur.
The video is edited, injustice was done to us
When he was talked to after the slap incident, Chhotu Lal Sharma in his defense said that my elder brother had died and this was the first festival after that. We were going there. The car ran out of fuel on the way, so we stopped at Jaswantpura petrol pump. The employee there misbehaved with my wife, made obscene gestures and started filling gas in another car. I opposed it. The video that has gone viral has been edited. An atmosphere is being created against us.
Poonam’s counterattack: He was always angry
First wife Poonam says that Chhotu Lal always had an angry nature. He doesn’t understand anyone. Once in the fair, he even slapped the swing man because he had said that the swing would take some time. Then he said, I am SDM, don’t talk to me like that. Poonam said that after becoming SDM, she became so intoxicated with power that she could not control herself. He understands that his position can protect him from every mistake. But the truth always comes out.

This incident which took place at Jaswantpura petrol pump in Bhilwara district has now become a topic of discussion in the entire Rajasthan as well as on social media. After the video went viral, the state government immediately took action and suspended Chhotu Lal Sharma.
