Justice has finally been achieved in Noida’s famous Ankit Chauhan murder case after 10 years. On Monday, the special CBI court in New Delhi sentenced two accused Shashank Jadaun and Manoj Kumar to life imprisonment in this case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 70 thousand on Shashank and Rs 50 thousand on Manoj.

Actually, this matter is of 13 April 2015, when Ankit Chauhan, a software engineer working in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Noida He was shot dead in a Fortuner car in Sector-76. The killers could not be identified in the initial investigation. Later, on the appeal of the victim’s family, Allahabad High Court handed over the responsibility of investigation to CBI.

CBI registered the case on June 14, 2016 and started investigation and arrested Shashank Jadaun and Manoj Kumar in 2017. The agency had filed a charge sheet on 29 August 2017 on charges of murder, attempt to robbery, conspiracy and destruction of evidence.

After this, the Supreme Court transferred the trial of the case from Ghaziabad to Delhi in 2019. After a long hearing, the court convicted both of them on 20 September 2025 and sentenced them on 13 October 2025. After this verdict, the family of the deceased said, even though justice was delayed, we were confident that the truth would come out.
