Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has broken ties with the Grand Alliance in Bihar Assembly elections. Party general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya announced that JMM will contest independently on six seats. These include Chakai, Dhamdaha, Katoria, Pirpainti, Manihari and Jamui seats. Bhattacharya said, ‘We will not fight with the Grand Alliance, but will fight on our own strength.’
Meanwhile, internal discord has intensified in the grand alliance comprising RJD, Congress and Left parties. According to the information so far, the constituent parties of the Grand Alliance are face to face on 7 seats. These include Lalganj, Vaishali, Rajapakar, Bachhwara, Rosra and BiharSharif seats are prominent. The nomination of candidates on these seats has raised questions on the unity of the Grand Alliance.
There is a ruckus in Sikandra assembly seat also. This seat was originally allotted to Vinod Chaudhary of Congress, but former speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary filed nomination from this seat on Saturday on the symbol of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Due to this, the constituent parties of the Grand Alliance have come face to face on Sikandra seat also. Till now, such a situation has arisen on a total of seven seats.
