Jaisalmer Police has arrested Manish Jain, the owner of the bus modifying company involved in the Jaisalmer bus fire incident in Rajasthan. Recently a tragic accident shocked everyone. 21 people, including three children, died when a private AC sleeper bus going from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur caught fire. The accident occurred on the night of October 14 near Thaiyat village, which is about 10 kilometers from Jaisalmer city. There were a total of 57 passengers in the bus, which included many families and children.

New AC unit was installed five days ago
According to the information, a new AC unit was installed in the bus five days ago. Late at night the bus suddenly caught fire and within no time the flames engulfed the entire vehicle. Within a few minutes the bus turned into a ball of fire. Many passengers could not even get out and burnt to death on the spot.

Army helped in rescue
The accident happened near the Army War Memorial, due to which army personnel immediately reached the spot and started relief work. According to eyewitnesses, ‘After the loud explosion, smoke was seen rising from the bus. The door had to be broken to save the passengers.

Questions raised on safety standards
This accident is not just an accident but simply exposes the safety standards in the country. Every year, hundreds of buses in India become death traps for passengers due to poor design, closed exit doors and lax safety rules.
