He claimed that ABVP workers attacked the general body meeting, due to which many students were injured.

JNUSU’s allegations against ABVP

JNUSU President Nitish Kumar alleged that when the GBM started, ABVP students created a ruckus in the meeting and made casteist remarks at the students presenting the report. He said that ABVP, as usual, tried to spoil the atmosphere and create fear by beating up the students.

Left organizations said that attempts to crush democracy on campus will no longer be tolerated. He also said that a complaint is being given to Delhi Police so that an FIR can be lodged against the people responsible.

Accused of spreading unrest due to issues of regionalism and casteism

On the other hand, ABVP also expressed its views in its press conference. ABVP students said that the clash was started by those pro-Left students who do not want elections to be conducted in a transparent manner in JNU. They allege that the left students want to impose their ideology and are making the atmosphere turbulent by raising issues of regionalism and casteism.
