On Friday, a loving couple committed suicide by consuming poison near Kalri village of Sarsawa police station area of Saharanpur. Both have been identified as Gaurav (26) and Kajal (25), residents of Suakhedi village. When the villagers saw a young man and a girl lying in an unconscious state near the railway underpass, they informed the police.
Police station Sarsawa reached the spot with the help of local people and immediately took both of them to Government Medical College Pilkhani, where they were referred as their condition was serious. After this, the family took them to a private hospital and then to the district hospital, but the doctors declared both of them dead.
Police is investigating the matter
Police have also recovered a bike from the spot. Preliminary police investigation has revealed that a love affair was going on between Gaurav and Kajal for many years. It is feared that both of them took this step due to family or social pressure. CO Nakur Ashok Kumar Sisodia said that at around 11:45 pm on Friday afternoon, information was received about a boy and a girl lying in the police station Sarsawa area after consuming intoxicants.
The police sent both of them to the hospital for treatment, where the doctors declared them dead. The Panchnama of the dead bodies has been sent for post-mortem. Prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide in a love affair. Police are also investigating other aspects.
