Faisal, a sharp shooter of the notorious Sanjeev Jeeva gang and a criminal carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh, was killed during an encounter in the forest of Jhinjhana. The police immediately responded, in which Faisal was seriously injured and died on the way to the hospital. During this time, SOG constable Deepak Nirwan was also injured by the bullet, who is undergoing treatment in the district hospital and his condition is stable.

Faisal was originally a resident of Lisadi Gate in Meerut district, but was currently living in Khalapar, Muzaffarnagar. He was the main sharp shooter of the notorious Sanjeev Jeeva gang. Shamli He was wanted in at least two incidents of robbery in the district, due to which a reward of Rs 1 lakh was announced on him. Recently, on Thursday evening, he had also committed a robbery in Barnavi village. His partner Shahrukh Pathan was also killed in an STF encounter one and a half months ago.

Police have recovered two motorcycles, two .32 bore pistols, nine live cartridges, five kiosks and looted bike, mobile phone and cash from the encounter site. Another associate of Faisal fled from the spot, in search of whom a large-scale combing operation is being conducted in the forest area. Superintendent of Police N.P. Singh said that Faisal had many serious cases registered against him including murder, robbery, extortion and Gangster Act.
