Started from poverty, had the thread of dreams together
Poonam Sharma tells that she was married to Chhotu Lal Sharma in 2008. At that time the condition of the house was very weak. Chhotu Lal was working hard during the days of struggle and Poonam supported him with full dedication. We both had the same dream that he should become something big and bring glory to the family. I even sold my jewelery to help her study. Whatever came in relief work for the poor, we both used to spend it together on family and studies. Tears welled up in Poonam’s eyes when she told that we had two children. There was happiness in the house, but Chhotu Lal was still short-tempered. He used to raise his hand on small matters. I endured everything because I believed that one day he would change.
Attitude changed after becoming an officer
When Chhotu Lal Sharma was selected in 2018 Rajasthan When she joined the Administrative Services (RAS) and became SDM, Poonam felt that her life would improve. But fate had written something else. Poonam said that his tone changed as soon as he became an officer. He is no longer the person who used to dream of riding a bicycle with me. He started saying that you have become old now, you do not suit me. Gradually fights started increasing in the house. According to Poonam, Chhotu Lal started coming in contact with other women. I explained several times, but he had now started considering himself above the law. He used to say – I am SDM, I can do whatever I want.
New trick created during Corona period
According to Poonam, when schools were closed in the year 2020 due to Corona epidemic, Chhotu Lal said that there are good schools in Pilani, online studies are also going on there. Get the children admitted there, I will also get them the same room. Poonam agreed to his request. She went to Pilani with the children. But within a few months Chhotu Lal stopped coming and going. Initially he used to send school fees online, but later he broke contact completely. Whenever she tried to talk, he would say that I am in a meeting, don’t disturb me.
Divorce with forged signature
According to Poonam, suddenly one day some papers arrived by post. When I opened it, there were divorce papers. There were fake signatures of mine on them. The ground slipped beneath my feet. The man for whom I left everything has betrayed me. Poonam complained about the matter and filed a case in Jodhpur High Court. She says that I told the court that I am his first wife and he tried to divorce me by deceit. Even today I am legally his wife. Even today I apply vermilion in his name.
He even used to kill the swing man in the fair.
According to Poonam, Chhotu Lal’s anger had become bigger than his official status. He used to say that I am SDM, I can do whatever I want. Once at a fair, the swing man was slapped just because he took a minute to stop the swing. Such a man does not leave anyone.

Chhotu Lal Sharma said that this was the first festival after my elder brother had died, so I was going home. Ran out of fuel on the way, so stopped at a petrol pump. The employee there misbehaved with my wife and left our car and started filling gas in another car. I opposed it. The video which is going viral has been edited and an atmosphere is being created against me. Injustice has been done to us.
