Nafees, carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh, died after being shot during an encounter between police and miscreants in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh. More than 34 cases like murder, robbery and murderous attacks were registered against Nafees. This action of the police created a sensation in the area. A combing operation is being conducted to search for Nafees’ absconding accomplice.
The encounter took place near Bhabhisa village of Kandhla police station area. Late night the police received information that some miscreants were roaming in the area. Kandhla police imposed blockade on this. As soon as the police signaled the miscreants to stop, they started firing. The police also retaliated in self-defense and during this time Nafees got injured by the bullet.
Police said that during the encounter, criminal Nafis, son of history-sheeter carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh and resident of Muda, Mohalla Khail police station Kandhla, was shot, due to which he got injured. He was taken to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
After the encounter, the police recovered one .32 bore pistol, one .315 bore pistol, two spent cartridges, five live cartridges and a bike from the spot. It is being told that one of his associates was also present with Nafees, who escaped taking advantage of the darkness. In search of him, the police have cordoned off the area and started a search operation.
A total of 34 cases were registered against Nafees for serious crimes like murder, robbery, dacoity, extortion and murderous attacks. He was wanted for a long time in three cases. The police had announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh on him.
