Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected Noida International Airport on Saturday and took detailed stock of the airport construction, security and preparations for the inauguration ceremony. During the inspection, the Chief Minister reviewed the domestic terminal, security arrangements, traffic management, inauguration site and other construction works.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister directed the officials that the construction work should be completed as per high standards, on time and while ensuring quality and there should not be any laxity in the preparations for the inauguration ceremony. He asked to prepare a concrete and coordinated action plan for security and traffic management. Also, emphasis was laid on timely completion of road and metro link projects related to the airport.
The Chief Minister gave instructions to ensure smooth and safe experience for the passengers. He also took stock of the facilities like beautification, cleanliness, lighting, drinking water, toilets and parking of the airport complex. Officials were instructed to maintain proper traffic and security arrangements on the routes leading to the public meeting venue.
150 flights can be operated daily
Let us tell you that Jewar Airport It will be launched with one runway, with an annual capacity of 1.2 crore passengers and an average of 150 flights per day. In future, service to a total of 7 crore passengers will be ensured by constructing the second runway. The airport in its full form will have a total of 5 runways and an area of 11,750 acres.
24 airports in Uttar Pradesh, 16 operational
Uttar Pradesh has now joined the leading states of the country in the field of civil aviation. In the year 2024-25, about 1.5 crore people have traveled by air, which includes 1.3 crore domestic and 13 lakh international passengers. Noida International Airport is expected to generate approximately 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs. Better air connectivity has also boosted tourism and industrial development.
There are a total of 24 airports in the state, out of which 16 are operational. With the operation of Jewar Airport, Uttar Pradesh will become the first state in the country to have 5 international airports. In the coming years, it will contribute 2–3% to the GDP of the state and will also promote business in small towns.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Said that Noida International Airport will become a symbol of development of the state and quality, safety and timeliness will be ensured by regularly reviewing all the works.
