Preparation to set up 700 camps before the elections

This is not the first time that BJP is organizing such camps. For the last few months, the party has been organizing such camps near the India-Bangladesh border. As the 2026 assembly elections are approaching, BJP is preparing for the CAA issue and is working on a plan to activate the process of granting citizenship to refugees.

According to BJP sources, the party has decided to organize around 700 CAA camps in Bengal in the next few weeks. In these camps, the general public will be given information about CAA and will also be told who can apply for citizenship under this Act.

Volunteers will be recruited to help the applicants

According to sources, the party team will decide the locations of the camps, coordinate with the local administration, provide technical support and also recruit volunteers. The leaders also discussed how to overcome problems faced by people in obtaining citizenship certificate, such as lack of documents, difficulty in filling the form and confusion in the application process.
