Pakistan’s high-level delegation has reached Doha to start talks with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. This delegation includes Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and intelligence agency chief Asim Malik. Meanwhile, a delegation from Kabul led by Afghan Defense Minister Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid and Intelligence Department Chief Abdul Haq Wasiq is about to reach Doha.

Pakistan And Afghanistan has extended the ongoing 48-hour temporary ceasefire between them till the end of Doha talks. This decision was taken on the request of Pakistan. This conversation between the two countries is taking place after intense border clashes in the past in which dozens of people were killed and many were injured. However, meanwhile there are claims that Pakistan violated the ceasefire.

According to Qatari sources, this meeting is being organized under the mediation of Qatar and Türkiye. Expert Jannat Faheem said that the participation of high-level representatives of both the countries is an indication that the talks can yield positive results.
