The villagers of Nirpuda invited more than 500 people for this unique celebration and invited them for ‘honesty’.
According to the villagers, retired Inspector Paramveer Rana, against whom a case of disproportionate assets has been registered, is a resident of this village. The complaint was also made by a person from the same village and the special thing is that instead of hiding his name, he came out openly and said, “Yes, I have made the complaint… so that the corrupt learn a lesson.”
Villagers say that this happened when Yogi-Modi’s photo was published in an advertisement in the newspaper and it was written that if anyone complains about corruption, his name will be kept secret. Then this responsibility was taken by an elder of the village named Rammehar. This is the reason why advertisements regarding this action of CM Yogi were also put up on the stalls at the feast.
However, this entire matter is now being linked to village politics also. There is talk that the accused party was preparing to contest the Panchayat elections, and that is why some people are calling the party political in the village. Meanwhile, the police also reached the spot and anticipating tension, confiscated all the banquet items. At present, the preliminary investigation of the Income Tax Department against retired Inspector Paramveer Rana has been completed, while the detailed investigation is still going on.
