Story of Akshaya Navami
According to the legend, the tradition of worshiping the Amla tree and eating food under it on Akshaya Navami was started by Goddess Lakshmi. Once Lakshmi ji came to visit the earth. Then the idea of joint worship of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva came to his mind. But he had doubts as to how integrated worship of both the gods would be possible.
Then he remembered that Tulsi is very dear to Lord Vishnu and Belpatra is very dear to Lord Shankar. and the qualities of both Gooseberry Are present in the tree. Therefore, they worshiped the Amla tree considering it to be a symbol of both Vishnu and Shiva. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva appeared there.
After this, Mother Lakshmi prepared food under the Amla tree and offered it to both the gods. Then he himself took food. Since then, this religious tradition of worshiping the Amla tree and eating food under it on Akshaya Navami has been going on.
