A painful road accident in Agra, Uttar Pradesh late on Friday night shook the entire area. A speeding car crushed people sitting outside the house in Nagla Budhi area of New Agra, in which five people died and two were seriously injured. There was hue and cry on the spot after the accident. Local people immediately informed the police and took the injured to the nearest hospital.
According to eyewitnesses, the car was traveling at such a high speed that the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the wall, trampling people sitting on the roadside. The collision was so severe that many people died on the spot.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Has expressed deep condolences on this heart-wrenching incident. He has instructed the officials to provide proper treatment and all possible assistance to the injured.
Pintu, brother of deceased Babli, told that a vehicle like Thar came at high speed and directly crushed everyone. After that the vehicle collided with the divider. Many people including our sister died on the spot in the accident.
Horrific pictures of the incident site have also surfaced, in which the havoc caused by the speeding car can be clearly seen. The crowd was controlled by deploying heavy police force on the spot. The police have appealed to everyone to maintain peace so that the bereaved families can get justice. CCTV footage around the incident spot is being scrutinized so that the exact cause of the accident can be known.
Four out of five dead have been identified. 23 year old Satish, 20 year old Mahesh, 33 year old Harish and Bhanu Pratap. Efforts are on to identify one more deceased.
Sheshamani Upadhyay, ACP Kotwali, Agra Police Commissionerate said that five accident victims were brought to SN Medical College. But before reaching there everyone was found dead. The accused car driver has been taken into custody and further action is being taken.
