Fugitive gangster Amit Sharma alias Jack Pandit has been arrested in America. Rajasthan Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has played an important role in his arrest. An official said on Tuesday that Amit Sharma was detained by American agencies on the basis of joint inputs of AGTF and Interpol branch of CBI. This action became possible after the Red Corner Notice issued through Interpol.
ADG (Crime/AGTF) Dinesh MN said that Amit Sharma was an important member of Rohit Godara and Goldie Brar syndicate and was running the gang’s recovery and money laundering activities from abroad. He used to collect extortion money from abroad and send it to the gang members operating in India.
According to the officer, “Amit Sharma was also playing a major role in providing shelter, funding and fake documents abroad to the absconding gang members.” Amit Sharma is originally a resident of Sriganganagar district of Rajasthan and has many criminal cases registered against him. After fleeing the country, he first reached Dubai, then Spain and finally America.
