Gorakhpur Police of Uttar Pradesh has solved the mystery of the decapitated body found near Bhuidharpur village 16 days ago. The deceased’s daughter-in-law Uttara Devi and her daughter Khushi Kumari had committed the murder. Hurt by her grandmother’s constant taunting by calling her ‘Bangalin’ and treating her like a maid, granddaughter Khushi committed suicide by beheading her with a sword while sleeping. The police have arrested both of them.
‘Taunt’ became the reason for murder
This sensational case came to light on September 26 when the dead body of an elderly woman was found on the border of Bhuidharpur village under PPganj area. Uttara Devi, the daughter-in-law of the deceased, had filed a case of murder against the unknown. Police investigation revealed the reason for the murder to be surprising.
Khushi Kumari, daughter of daughter-in-law Uttara Devi, was often taunted by her grandmother. Grandmother Khushi and her mother used to call Uttara ‘Bangalin’ and accused them of being characterless and treated them like maids.
Granddaughter beheads grandmother
Fed up with the constant taunts and hurt by being made to miss her studies, Khushi decided to teach her grandmother a lesson. The day Khushi’s mother Uttara had gone out of the house and there was no one at home, Khushi saw her grandmother sleeping in the shed. After this, he killed the sleeping grandmother by beheading her with a sword.
When Uttara Devi returned, Khushi told her about the murder. After this, both of them together filled the body in a sack when it got dark, took it on a bicycle and threw it outside the village.
Weapon hidden in a pile of dung
After the murder, the mother and daughter together hid ‘Aala Katla’ i.e. Gadasi in the middle of the pile of cow dung stored in the house. Police said that dung was being thrown on this dung heap for the last 14 days. On Khushi’s information, the police recovered the pistol used in the murder.
In the case, SP North Jitendra Kumar Srivastava said that investigation revealed that the granddaughter committed murder after getting frustrated due to taunting by the grandmother. At present, both the accused Khushi Kumari (granddaughter) and Uttara Devi (daughter-in-law) have been arrested and sent to jail. The matter has become a topic of discussion in the area.
