Four people tried to gang rape a Delhi University student inside the campus. The accused touched the student inappropriately and even tore her clothes. The student has filed a complaint regarding this entire matter. It is said that the student is studying in B.Tech first year.
In the complaint, the student has said that construction work is going on in the university campus, where an attempt was made to commit the crime. Four accused tore my clothes, touched me and tried to gang rape me. At present, police investigation has been started on the complaint of the student.
According to police sources, CCTV cameras are installed at almost all places in the university. On the basis of the statement given by the student, CCTV footage of all the places is being scrutinized. The matter will be revealed soon.
Counseling is being done for the student
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan said in an official statement that Maidan Garhi police station received a PCR call at around 3 pm on Monday regarding the incident. After which a police team reached the university campus. He said that the call was made by someone known to the girl. At present he is being counselled.
Based on the statement of the victim, an FIR has been registered under appropriate sections. The matter is being investigated with full sensitivity and priority. Strict action will be taken against the culprits.
