How low can humanity stoop? A living example of this can be seen from the incident that occurred in Bokaro, Jharkhand. Where a 71 year old mother and her 48 year old son were kept imprisoned in a closed room for the last 15 months. It is being told that the mother and son were brought to Sector-6 police station area from some other place and were locked in the room and locked from outside. The most surprising thing was that no neighbor informed the police for so long.
The incident came to light when a social organization got wind of this matter. The organization immediately informed the police. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot, but initially returned only after inquiring from outside the window. However, when the media exposed this entire matter, the police came into action and an immediate rescue operation was conducted.

Under the leadership of Sector-6 police station in-charge Sangeeta Kumari, the police team reached the spot and broke the lock of the door and took the mother and son out safely. After coming out, when 48-year-old son Santosh Kumar was talked to, what he told was very shocking. He told that a person named Ashok Singh, who is associated with a political party. He was the one who had brought him and his mother Sita Devi here and imprisoned them. Santosh alleged that Ashok Singh wanted to grab his property, so he was locked in the room.
Know what the police said in the matter?
Sector 6 police station in-charge Sangeeta Kumari said that through phonetic information it was revealed that a mother and son have been kept imprisoned here for about 15 months. Preliminary investigation has revealed that there was a property dispute going on with the son’s daughter-in-law and his wife. During this time he was in contact with a lawyer. On the request of the lawyer, Ashok Singh had promised to intervene and resolve the matter by spending money. But his real intention was to grab the property.
According to the police, Ashok Singh used to come once or twice a month and give them basic things like rice and pulses. If the mother and son needed anything else, they would hang the bag on a rope and ask for the goods from the neighbours. At present, the police have rescued both of them and their statements are being recorded. The station in-charge said that after receiving the written application, further legal action will be taken.
This incident has put humanity to shame in the entire city. The question arises that how in a civilized society this process of inhumanity continued by keeping someone locked up for 15 months and no one even got a clue about it.
