Saurabh Shukla Has been in Bollywood for almost 30 years. Meanwhile, he worked in many films. But there was a time when he was limited to only small roles. The actor recently told in an interview to a news agency that he was going through a difficult phase in his life when he was offered Ranbir Kapoor starrer film ‘Barfi’.
On working in Ranbir’s film, the actor said, ‘When I was going through the weakest moments of my life, Anurag Basu offered me the film Barfi. By then I was very upset because people used to tell me that you are a very good actor. But when the role was sent, it was a cameo. That is, one day’s shooting, in which what will you do? I was not even getting money. Then I started saying that I am not an actor, I am a writer and now I will make films.
Saurabh further tells that when director Anurag Basu came to him, he asked him about his role. Only after knowing that his work would be seen in the film, the actor agreed to do the film. Saurabh Shukla said that by the time of ‘Barfi’ he had lost interest in acting. But when he met Ranbir, there was a big change in his thinking.
How Ranbir Kapoor brought about a change in Saurabh Shukla?
Actor Saurabh Shukla further said about Ranbir, ‘Ranbir had a lot to talk about. I enjoyed sitting with him a lot. He is an educated man, he has knowledge about everything. We both had great respect for each other. When he used to act, he used to do something from which I used to learn. So because of that my interest in acting came back. Then I started thinking that yes, acting is a lot of fun. Since then, I have been acting continuously.
Let us tell you that the film ‘Barfi’ was one of the biggest films of the year 2012 which had won many awards. Along with Ranbir, Ileana D’Cruz and Priyanka Chopra were also included in it. This film also went to the Oscars on behalf of India at that time. However, nothing was achieved.
