A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Sherpur village of Maner police station area of Patna. Here a father killed his 12-year-old son and threw the body in the Ganga river. Prema Devi, the mother of the deceased, lodged an FIR at Maner police station accusing five people including her husband of murder.
As soon as information about the incident was received, Maner police took immediate action and recovered the body from the Ganga river and sent it for post-mortem. City Superintendent of Police Patna Paschim Bhanu Pratap Singh told that the murder was done jointly by the father and family members. The body was thrown into the river to destroy evidence. Considering the seriousness of the incident, Police Station Head Maner formed a special raid team.
During the raid, the main accused Omprakash Rai was taken into police custody. During interrogation, the burnt body of the deceased was recovered from the river Ganga on the spot of the criminals. Apart from this, three other accused were also arrested. FSL team was called to the incident site and a microscopic inspection was conducted.
A total of four people have been arrested in this case. The police is investigating the matter thoroughly and further legal action is underway.
