‘Pharmaceutical companies donated Rs 945 crore to BJP’, claims Digvijay Singh on syrup deaths in MP – mp toxic cough syrup deaths digvijay singh bjp election funding ntc

After the death of 26 children due to Coldriff cough syrup in Madhya Pradesh, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has made a big attack on the BJP government. Digvijay Singh alleged that the government does not take any strict action against pharmaceutical companies that are playing with people’s lives because these companies give election donations to BJP.

While holding a press conference in Bhopal Digvijay Singh Said that since September 2, 26 children have died in Parasia due to consumption of the same cough syrup, in which the amount of Diethylene Glycol (DEG) was found to be 48.6%, whereas its safe limit should be only 0.01%. He asked the Health Minister that if the investigation now proves that poisonous chemicals were found in the syrup, then should the Health Minister continue in his post.

The former CM claimed that the pharmaceutical companies which sold poisonous medicines were getting protection because they had given election funds to the BJP in power at the Centre. He said that pharmaceutical companies donated a total of Rs 945 crore to BJP through electoral bonds.

Digvijay Singh also said that out of the companies which made this donation, the quality of medicines of 35 companies did not meet the standards. He said that this is a clear example that people’s lives and safety are being played with and no responsibility is being taken due to power protection.

The former Chief Minister demanded immediate action from the Central and State Governments and said that strict action should be taken against the officials involved in the death of children and protecting the guilty companies.
