According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s uncle, a resident of West Bengal and Bengaluru The student, pursuing her graduation in a private university, had booked a cab through an online aggregator to catch a flight to Kempegowda International Airport. Despite paying toll fee during the journey, the driver ignored the toll road. In such a situation, when the student asked him the reason for leaving the toll road, he did not give any answer. After which the student asked him to stop the vehicle.

The accused was under the influence of alcohol

This was followed by a heated argument, after which the student got down and booked another cab. It is said that as soon as she was about to board the bus, the accused assaulted her. He told that after this the student left her luggage and left the spot, while the driver ran away.

Police said that based on the complaint, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code. Which includes intentionally causing hurt, criminal intimidation and wrongful restraint etc. The accused driver was arrested after the incident.

Police said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused had reached Bengaluru from Kerala only two days before the incident and was allegedly under the influence of alcohol while taking the booking.
