A serious case has come to light in Satara district of Maharashtra. A 28-year-old female doctor working in a government hospital in Satara allegedly committed suicide. The woman wrote a note on her palm, in which she accused policeman Gopal Badane of repeatedly raping and sexually assaulting her for the last five months.
In the note he also took the name of Prashant Bunker and accused him of mental harassment. Prashant Bunkar is the son of the landlord of the house where the doctor was staying. The female doctor was a resident of Beed district and was working in the government hospital located at Phaltan. After the incident came to light, the police conducted post-mortem of the body and started forensic investigation of the note written on the palm. The accused policeman has been suspended and a search has been started for both the accused.
Policeman raped a female doctor
The local Superintendent of Police said that a case has been registered against both of them on charges of rape and abetment of suicide. He said that the accused policeman has been suspended and all necessary strict action will be taken. Seeing the seriousness of the incident, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke to the Superintendent of Police of Satara and ordered the immediate suspension of the officers named by the woman doctor. The Chief Minister said that strict action will be taken against all the accused.
The victim’s family has spoken of alleged pressure and conspiracy. He said that there was police and political pressure on the doctor to prepare a wrong post-mortem report. The family demanded justice and asked for punishment of the accused. Another relative of the victim said that the female doctor was bright and ambitious. She was under extreme mental pressure due to harassment at the workplace, which is why she took this step. The family demanded strict punishment for the accused.

The female doctor had complained about harassment to senior officials two days before her suicide. Maharashtra Considering the seriousness of the matter, the State Women’s Commission has also instructed the police to take strict action. Commission Chairperson Rupali Chakkar ordered Satara Police to search for the accused and investigate the entire matter. Minister of State Pankaja Munde said that there will be a detailed investigation in the matter and there should not be a media trial. He said that justice will be ensured.
Minister of State for Health Meghna Bordikar said that she spoke to the Satara Civil Surgeon, who said that the doctor had not complained of any harassment earlier. At the same time, the opposition has targeted the state government. Congress leader Vijay Namdevrao Wadettiwar said that how will justice be achieved when the police itself becomes the victim. He said that if strict action is not taken against police personnel, such cases will continue to happen.
Police busy searching for the accused
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey said that this incident is worrying and raises questions on law and order. He demanded the Chief Minister to hold the ministers responsible and said that the accused should be arrested. Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress also accused BJP of ignoring the issue in its own state while taking action on incidents in other states. The party raised questions on the policies of the government and the silence of the media.
Post mortem and forensic investigation reports will play an important role in the case. Police are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact chain of events and the extent of any crime. Satara Police and the state government have intensified the search for both the accused. Officials said the accused will not be spared and justice will be ensured.
