In such a situation, the party has given its support to independent candidate Ravi Paswan. This announcement has been issued officially through social media. This has increased political turmoil in the entire area.
Ravi Paswan is the son of Chhedi Paswan. Chhedi Paswan has been a very big leader here and his name is still taken with great respect in the Dalit society. This step of RJD seems to be an attempt to add to this legacy. The party wants Dalit voters to come in its favor.
Experts believe that RJD is trying to fulfill two objectives simultaneously. First, to bring Dalit votes in our favor. Second, to pacify those workers who were angry over the cancellation of Shweta Suman’s nomination.
With this decision the election is no longer straightforward. It has become triangular. This has also increased the challenge for BJP. BJP is trying its best to save its traditional supporters and retain the seat.
