A minor dispute between two communities turned into a violent clash late Friday night in Moid village of Sabarkantha district of Gujarat. This whole matter started with a bike collision, after which the altercation between the two parties escalated and within some time the situation went out of control. Both the groups pelted stones at each other, causing chaos in the entire village.

Minor dispute took violent form

During the incident, glasses of many vehicles were broken and windows of some houses were also damaged. Two people have been seriously injured in this violent clash, who have been admitted to the Civil Hospital. Police reached the spot and immediately deployed additional forces to handle the situation and intensified patrolling to maintain peace in the village.

According to local sources, this dispute escalated due to the old tension between Patel and Thakur community in Moid village. After stone pelting, some unruly elements also set fire to two-wheelers, due to which panic spread in the village. However, the police took prompt action and controlled the fire and stopped the violence from escalating further.

Police deployment in the entire village

According to Sabarkantha District Police, three to four people involved in this incident have been detained and their interrogation is going on. Police officials said that the situation is currently under control and additional security forces have been deployed in the entire village. The police team was continuously patrolling till late night to maintain peace in the entire area.

This incident, which took place in the home district of MP Baria, has alerted the local administration. According to sources, in the coming days the police will try to reach an agreement between both the parties so that such incidents do not happen again. At present, the atmosphere in Moid village is said to be calm, but for security reasons, strict police vigil is maintained.
