A woman and her boyfriend were arrested on Thursday for allegedly murdering their two-year-old daughter in North Goa’s Bicholim village. A police officer has given this information.
Superintendent of Police (North) Rahul Gupta has identified the accused as 28-year-old Nagamma V, a native of Karnataka, and her 30-year-old boyfriend Nitin Kumara.
The officer said, ‘A two-year-old girl was strangled to death near the house of Nagamma and Kumara on Wednesday. The couple are in a live-in relationship. The accused did not like the child because she was from his girlfriend’s first marriage.
Let us tell you that this is not the first case of murder of an innocent child for the sake of a lover, but this kind of cruelty has been seen before also. Last month, the Christianganj police of Ajmer arrested a middle-aged mother who killed her three-year-old daughter by throwing her into Anasagar lake. The woman lived in a live-in relationship with her lover. The shocking thing is that first the woman made the girl sleep in her lap on the platform itself and after she slept, she pushed her into the lake.
