When they will sit after the elections, the leaders of the legislative party will sit and decide their leader. Right now we are contesting the elections under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and Nitish Kumar is leading our elections.
‘We still have more MLAs, still Nitish is the CM’

‘Both BJP and public trust Nitish Kumar’
On the question of trust in Nitish Kumar, Amit Shah said, ‘Nitish Kumar is a very prominent leader of Indian politics. He was never in Congress. His record of staying with Congress was also never more than two and a half years. He said that to evaluate a person one should look at large parts of his life.
He said, ‘Nitish Kumar is a typical socialist leader. Have been against Congress since birth. JP was a prominent leader of the movement and fought a good fight against Congress during the Emergency. I believe that not only BJP has faith, the people of Bihar also have faith in Nitish Kumar.
‘Those who are used to corruption are feeling scared’
Amit Shah also gave clarification on the questions being raised regarding the 130th constitutional amendment. He said that this amendment is not to target the opposition, but applies equally to all elected representatives. He said that only those who are used to corruption are feeling scared. Describing the allegations of the opposition as false, he said that till now there has not been a single allegation of corruption against the Modi government, whereas during the Congress rule, scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore took place.
‘Should the government be run from jail?’
Amit Shah also targeted the leaders running the government from jail. He said that the makers of the Constitution had never thought that someone could be so shameless that he could run the government while in jail. Giving examples, he said that such incidents have happened in Tamil Nadu and Delhi and raised the question whether any Chief Minister, Minister or Prime Minister should run the government while sitting in jail. He said that this situation cannot be acceptable in a democracy.
