Southern Range Crime Branch has taken a major action in Raghubir Nagar area of ​​Delhi and recovered about 2500 kg of adulterated sweets from a warehouse. According to the police, these sweets were to be supplied in different areas of the capital during Diwali. Investigation has revealed that the sweets were being prepared using banned chemicals and adulterated mawa.

According to the information, the Southern Range team of the Crime Branch, under the direction of DCP Aditya Gautam, conducted a raid in Raghubir Nagar on Friday. This raid was conducted on the basis of complaint of manufacturing and selling of adulterated food items.

During the raid, police found hundreds of boxes of milk cakes and kalakand in a warehouse. Preparations were underway to mix banned chemicals in these sweets and supply them to shops during the festive season.

Police seized about 2000 to 2500 kg of sweets from the spot. The recovered sweets have been sealed and samples have been sent for testing.

According to the officials, it is clear from this action that the adulterators were planning to prepare large quantities of fake sweets and launch them in the market during the festive season. Police are currently busy identifying warehouse operators and people associated with the supply chain.

The Crime Branch has said that further legal action is being taken in the matter.
