Rama Ekadashi fasting date and time
According to the Panchang, the fast of Rama Ekadashi is observed every year on the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. Ekadashi Tithi will start at 10:35 AM on 16th October and end at 11:12 AM on 17th October. Udayatithi will be valid on 17th October, hence Rama Ekadashi fast will be observed on 17th October.
Auspicious time for puja
Abhijeet Muhurta will be from 11:43 am to 12:29 pm. Amrit Kaal Muhurta will be from 11:26 AM to 1:07 PM. The time of Paran will be from 6:24 AM to 8:41 AM on October 18, 2025.
Rama Ekadashi worship method
On the morning of 7th October, wake up in Brahma Muhurta and take bath. After bathing, wear clean, yellow or white clothes, because both these colors are dear to Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi. Purify the place of worship and sprinkle Ganga water. Now light the lamp and sit in front of Lord Vishnu and take a pledge to fast. While starting the puja, anoint Lord Vishnu with Panchamrit (milk, curd, ghee, honey and pure water). After this, offer them yellow sandalwood, Akshat (rice), Mauli (Raksha Sutra), flowers, basil leaves, dry fruits.
After worshiping Lord Vishnu, worship Goddess Lakshmi as well. Offer them lotus flowers, roses or yellow flowers. After worship, definitely listen or read the story of Rama Ekadashi fast. Finally, perform joint aarti of Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi. After Aarti all the family members “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya” or “Om Lakshmyai Namah” Chant the mantra.
Those fasting can keep fast throughout the day. Next day, on Dwadashi Tithi, do morning puja and donate to a Brahmin or any needy person, after that break the fast.

According to the legend, King Muchukunda, who was extremely valiant and pious, took refuge in Lord Vishnu many times in his life to get relief from wars and sinful deeds. One day Devarshi Narad came to his court and told him the glory of fasting on Rama Ekadashi. He told that this fast pleases Lord Vishnu and Goddess Rama (Lakshmi), which gives freedom from all the troubles of life. King Muchukund observed this fast with devotion. Due to its effect, he was not only freed from his sins, but he also attained heaven.
