Actually, about 15 years ago, a woman named Saroj from Muzaffarnagar had got her daughter Sonia married to Sonu Saini. After marriage, mother-in-law also started living with her daughter and son-in-law. But with time this relationship changed from mother-in-law and son-in-law to illegitimate love.
Police investigation revealed that Sonu and Saroj had illicit relations. Both of them also made obscene videos together. Deceased son-in-law Sonu had bought a plot in Bijnor in the name of Saroj, which was now worth Rs 20 lakh. Sonu wanted to sell that land, but mother-in-law and wife were against it.
In such a situation, when there was a fight over property, son-in-law Sonu started blackmailing his mother-in-law Saroj with the same videos. Then Sonu threatened his mother-in-law – “If you refuse, I will make your video viral.” A silent conspiracy started from here, but very scary.
Night of murder, foolproof planning
Night of 11 October 2025. Mother and daughter together completed the dreadful plan. Sonu was made to sleep by giving him milk and sleeping pills, then he strangulated him to death with a rope. After this, the body was hanged in the room, so that everyone would think that he had committed suicide.
In the morning there was a rumor in the village that Sonu had committed suicide. People were assured, and the body was cremated in a hurry. But according to the FIR, Sonu’s brother Monu Saini told that his sister-in-law Sonia had tearfully told that her husband had been called and taken away by her brother, due to which she got suspicious and lodged a complaint with the police. And when the investigation started, the whole game got exposed. When the police detained mother-in-law Saroj and her daughter and interrogated them, both of them confessed to their crime.

Praveen Singh Chauhan (ASP, baghpat) said that on October 12, a complaint was received that a young man named Sonu Saini was murdered and made to appear as suicide and the last rites were performed. Based on the complaint of the deceased’s brother, a case was registered and his mother-in-law and wife were arrested. Sonu was murdered by his mother-in-law and wife for having illicit relations with his mother-in-law and selling property. At present, he has been arrested.
