Indian people love to eat fried snacks. The situation is such that in most of the houses, samosas or pakodas are eaten with tea as evening snacks. Are you also one of those people who lose control over themselves after seeing samosas, pakodas or French fries? If yes, then you should forget their taste and also pay attention to the fact that all of them are fried in oil. If you too start feeling worried about your health as soon as the name of oil comes up, then this news is for you.

America’s well-known gastroenterologist (liver doctor) Dr. Saurabh Sethi has recently told that if the right oil is chosen, then fried food is not as harmful as we think. Just keep in mind that the smoke point of the oil i.e. the temperature at which the oil starts emitting smoke, should be high. Because when the oil gets too hot and starts emitting smoke, the healthy fats present in it start breaking down, due to which it can convert into harmful compounds. Dr. Sethi told about 4 such oils, which can be the safest option for frying. Let us know.

1. Refined Coconut Oil: Dr. Sethi explains that this oil is rich in saturated fats and is quite stable for frying with a smoke point of about 400°F. Due to this, the taste of food remains intact and it also does not spoil quickly.

2. Refined Olive Oil: While extra virgin olive oil is good for salads or low-heat cooking, refined olive oil has a smoke point of up to 465°F, which is perfect for deep frying. The monounsaturated fats present in it are also beneficial for heart health.

3. Ghee (Clarified Butter): Ghee has been a part of Indian kitchen for many decades and people have been using it for a long time. The smoke point of ghee is around 450°F and it adds a rich flavor to fried foods. Butyric acid present in ghee is also considered beneficial for digestion.

4. Avocado Oil: If you do deep frying at high temperature, avocado oil is the best option. Its smoke point is around 520°F, which means it can easily withstand high heat. Also, the healthy fats present in it are good for both heart and skin.
