For this, the government has made a provision of funds of Rs 1500 crore in the year 2025-26.
The process of LPG cylinder distribution will be in two phases. The first phase will run from October 2025 to December 2025, in which 1.23 crore Aadhaar certified beneficiaries will get this facility. In this phase, subsidy will be transferred directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries. The second phase will be from January 2026 to March 2026, in which the remaining beneficiaries will get benefits.

Providing free cylinders to women under the Ujjwala scheme is an important step in this direction. Beneficiaries do not need to follow any separate process under this scheme.
